Arjunchhal possesses various antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. However, it is best known to help reduce the risk of heart diseases as it strengthens and tones the heart muscles and helps in proper functioning of the heart. It also plays a role in reduction of systolic blood pressure, improvement in ECG changes, reduction in plasma cortisol (the stress hormone) and serum cholesterol levels. It has strong anti-hypertensive property thereby making it a super cardiotonic.


Dalchini, also known as Cinnamon, is loaded with antioxidants and polyphenols that help to fight the harmful free radicals in the body. Cinnamon is a very effective spice that reduces bad cholesterol and stabilizes the levels of good cholesterol, thereby keeping the heart-healthy. It increases blood circulation and acts as an anti-clotting agent especially for those suffering from heart disease.


Haridra is an inevitable spice as well as medicine used in the ancient traditional medicinal systems like Siddha and Ayurveda whose history goes back to over 5000 years. Curcumin, an important component of Haridra is known to be effective in reducing blood triglycerides, stabilising HDL (good) cholesterol and decreasing total serum cholesterol and serum lipid peroxides.


Haritaki has antioxidant, antimicrobial, antidiabetic, antiarthritic, and cardioprotective properties. It helps in purifying the blood, making heart muscles stronger. This further helps in stopping the build-up of fat in the artery, ensuring a reduction in blood pressure and making the heart stronger.


The principal medicinal uses of Lashoon (garlic) includes lowering triglycerides levels, blood pressure and cholesterol. Allicin, a compound found in garlic stops the oxidizing of LDL (bad cholesterol). It reduces the incidence of blood clots and thus helps prevent thromboembolism (obstruction of a blood vessel by a blood clot that has been dispositioned from another site in the circulation). Lashoon reduces the expression of genes responsible for the formation of adipose cells which store fat. It also increases thermogenesis in the body and leads to the burning of more fat and lowering of LDL (bad cholesterol).


Methi contains a flavonoid named naringenin that lowers the lipid levels in those with high cholesterol. An effective cardio protector, it reduces fat absorption and possesses a remarkable ability to lower cholesterol, triglycerides and LDL levels while balancing HDL levels, thus dramatically reducing the risk of abnormal blood clotting associated with heart attacks and strokes.


Marich is a well-known cardio-protector. It increases digestion strength, cleanses intestines and fights the excess fat deposition, thereby reducing cholesterol. It also acts as a good hypotensive agent that lowers blood pressure and helps reduce stress.

Sunthi is a highly recommended in traditional medicine for cardiopathy, high blood pressure, palpitations and as a vasodilator to improve circulation. This herb is known to effectively lower cholesterol and prevent blood from clotting in the blood vessels.

Known to be the ‘Destroyer of Sugar’, Gudmar saves pancreatic cells from damage caused by free radicals and increases insulin secretion, thereby lowering blood sugar. Gurmarin present in Gudmar prevents glucose absorption and manages lipid levels.
